Our in-house developed computer system is among the most sophisticated in the industry and is subject to continuous enhancements by our own IT professionals.
We employ a team of dedicated computer programmers who have developed all of our programs and systems. This investment enables us to have complete control of our data and process it in the most effective and efficient manner. Wherever possible, we adopt an ‘open standards’ policy to software to ensure we are not tied to any proprietary systems, which could have an adverse effect on our business and thus our ability to collect.
Our front-end systems are widely regarded as the most advanced in the industry, having been designed from the ground up as a bespoke system with the end-user constantly in mind. Close collaboration with the Collections Department ensures that the systems are designed to work exactly as we want them to, as opposed to our staff working with an ‘off the shelf’ package and being limited accordingly.
We cater for most data transfer formats and media, we have yet to encounter
a client with whom we cannot transfer data efficiently. We are constantly
monitoring new protocols to see if any features can be applied to our business
and make the process more efficient. Currently we can communicate by many
means including, but not limited to: floppy disk, custom dial-up, encrypted
e-mail, ZIP, FTP, EDI, IBM Magnetic Tape (reel and cartridge), SSL and
internet transfer.
We have high volume processing arrangements with the County Court Bulk
Centre (with whom we are one of the largest agency users) and credit
reference agencies.
We also have automated access to the Land Registry data.
All data is backed up on a daily basis and removed to a secure, offsite location to ensure data integrity, security and redundancy.
With our new secure payment web site, www.fredpay.com, users can log on to a secure SSL encrypted website and make payments direct to us. We believe this enhances our collections process and of course, be of benefit to our clients.
